A beer, a burger, and fries will run you next to nothing.
It is the kind of place where the regulars know each other, the bar is usually busy, and nobody is trying too hard. One thing to know before you go: Tara Inn is cash only, though there is an ATM on site.

It also stays open later than most spots in the village, until 1am on weekdays and 2am on weekends, which makes it one of the better late-night options in Port Jefferson.
