The Best Wine Bars in Miami

Wine bars in Miami can be a little harder to find than the lively bars of South Beach or the trendy restaurants in Brickell. But if you seek them out, Miami has some excellent wine bars that appeal to both serious connoisseurs and more casual wine drinkers.

The city is home to a number of standout wine bars and wine-focused restaurants that showcase impressive selections from around the world. Whether you’re looking for a cozy, intimate setting or a place with a more energetic, social atmosphere, Miami offers options for every taste. Below is my list of the best wine bars in Miami.

1. Lagniappe

Lagniappe

Experience the beautiful and unpretentious ambiance of Lagniappe, a New Orleans–style wine house that works just as well for a romantic evening as it does for a fun group gathering. Lagniappe is especially great for large groups, as the lush backyard is set up with long tables and couches. It feels like the wine version of a beer garden that really comes alive at night. If you prefer something quieter, you can head inside for a more intimate setting with live music performances every night.

You can build your own charcuterie board or order from a small menu of grilled items, all while discovering new wines priced at retail rather than the usual bar markup.

Lagniappe isn’t just one of the best wine bars in Miami, it has also appeared on lists of the best wine bars in the country. Between the atmosphere and how different it feels from a typical wine bar, Lagniappe is my top choice for wine bars in Miami.

2. Bunbury Miami

Bunbury

After several years in Edgewater, Bunbury moved to the Arts & Entertainment District on the northern edge of downtown in 2019. This Argentine wine bar is consistently named as one of the best Argentine restaurants in Miami.

You can relax with a date in the bar area or enjoy dinner with friends through a not-so-secret door that connects the bar to a larger dining room, which features live music on several nights.

Recommendation: While I highly recommend the food at Bunbury, some of the best pizza in Miami can be found across the street at Miami Slice. You can add your name to the waitlist before they open at 5 pm and then stop in here for a glass of wine while you wait. It’s also a perfect place to come after pizza.

3. Happy Wine

Spanish Tortilla at Happy Wine in the Grove

Happy Wine is a charming mom-and-pop establishment that has been delighting wine lovers in Miami since 2005. With more than 1,000 labels to choose from and a friendly, knowledgeable staff, this spot offers some of the best wine prices in the city. You can grab a bottle from the retail shelves and, for a small corkage fee, enjoy it alongside a menu of tapas-style dishes. The Spanish tortilla and patatas bravas make for a perfect lunch, and if you wait until 4 pm, they’re discounted on the happy hour menu. There are also heartier options like paella, paninis, and even a tomahawk ribeye.

The Calle Ocho location hosts live music performances from Wednesday through Saturday, creating an atmosphere that almost guarantees a good time. Both locations lean more toward a restaurant feel, with a small bar area and mostly table seating throughout.

4. Niu Wine

Niu Wine

Niu Wine Bar, led by wine expert Karina Iglesias, is a haven for wine lovers looking for a thoughtful and well-curated selection. With her expertise, Iglesias can guide you through an extensive range of natural wines. The bar is located just two doors down from NIU Kitchen, which makes it an easy stop before or after a dinner reservation there.

That said, you can also make the wine bar your main destination and take your time exploring new bottles while ordering from the smaller tapas menu. And if you fall in love with a particular wine, you can purchase it at retail price and bring it home to continue the experience.

5. Vinya Wine & Market

Vinya Table

Vinya Wine & Market is a wine lover’s paradise with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Located in Key Biscayne, this cozy spot lets you choose from an extensive wine selection and enjoy bottles on-site for a small corkage fee. The Latin American–inspired menu features a wide range of starters along with entrée-sized portions. Don’t miss the famous Vinya burger, made with wagyu beef, aged gouda, bacon, a fried egg, and truffle aioli.

Recommendation: Their happy hour runs daily from 3 to 6 pm and is the perfect time for a first visit. The menu includes discounted wine, sangria, and small plates, and the Peruvian shrimp ceviche with tostones is one of my favorite dishes in the area.

6. El Carajo

El Carajo

El Carajo offers a more unconventional wine bar experience, as it’s tucked inside a gas station. This hidden gem boasts a staggering collection of more than 1,500 wine bottles and around 40 options by the glass. You can pair your wine with traditional Spanish dishes like paella and garlic shrimp while browsing an impressive selection.

Don’t let the unusual setting fool you. El Carajo is a must-visit for wine lovers looking for something memorable, and it also has some of the best wine prices on this list.

7. Margot Bar & Bistro

Margot Natural Wine Bar

Margot Bar & Bistro is a chic natural wine and cocktail bar located in the historic Ingraham Building in downtown Miami. Inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s granddaughter, the bar comes from the Bar Lab team, the same group behind the well-known Broken Shaker bars in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Miami.

The menu features a selection of more than 75 natural wines, thoughtfully paired with a menu of small plates. The atmosphere blends minimalist, Scandinavian, and 1970s design elements, all set to a fun, well-curated music playlist.

8. Water Lion Wine + Alchemy

Created with Fabric.js 4.6.0

Water Lion Wine + Alchemy offers a welcome escape from the rowdier South Beach scene and is tucked inside the elegant Sagamore Hotel. The focus here is on an interesting and memorable wine experience, complemented by smart cocktails and a selection of fermented spirits.

Oysters paired with a chilled glass of Chablis are a natural choice, but the menu also includes well-executed small plates like deviled eggs and duck liver pâté. Set within an art-filled space, Water Lion delivers an unexpected wine list that feels both thoughtful and a little unconventional.

9. Magie

Created with Fabric.js 4.6.0

Magie is a laid-back neighborhood wine bar in Little River that focuses on natural and low-intervention wines in an outdoor garden setting. It’s the kind of place you go when you want to slow down, drink something interesting, and not feel rushed. The space is casual and welcoming, with plenty of outdoor seating that makes it an easy spot to spend a long evening.

The wine list leans heavily toward smaller producers and lesser-known bottles, and the staff is happy to guide you if you’re not sure what to order. Food offerings are simple and well-suited for sharing, making Magie a great choice if you’re meeting friends or easing into a night out in Little River.

They also have a second location in Coconut Grove beside one of my favorite bars, The Taurus.

Miami’s wine bar scene may not be as immediately obvious as its cocktail lounges or nightlife hotspots, but it’s deeper and more interesting than many people expect. From laid-back neighborhood spots to more polished wine-focused bars, there are plenty of places in the city to slow down, explore new bottles, and enjoy a great glass of wine.

This list is based on places I’ve spent time in and would happily return to, and it’s one I’ll continue to update as Miami’s wine scene evolves. If you’re willing to seek them out, these wine bars offer some of the best and most memorable drinking experiences in Miami.
