Here is a list of the best happy hours in Destin, Florida as well as some nearby in Miramar Beach and Fort Walton Beach. The deals at these bars and restaurants are as of May 2024 and subject to change at any time. Please feel free to contact me if you have any additions or changes.
Destin has some fantastic bars and restaurants. But when you leave the beach or pool, you might want to hit up a happy hour before dinner. There is no shortage of happy hour specials in the area that include beer, mixed drinks, oysters, and even a 2-for-1 dinner at Marina Cafe.

Destin Happy Hour
The Craft Bar
Happy Hour 2-6pm Monday to Friday
- $8 food that includes Nashville hot chicken, Mac & cheese, soft pretzels, and pulled pork quesadilla
- $5 Selection of Craft Cocktails and has the best beer menu in the area even though it isn’t included in happy hour.
The Craft Bar has a total of four locations in Destin, Fort Walton, Miramar Beach, and Panama City. It’s mostly pub style food, and with around 30 craft beers on tap, they have perhaps the best beer selection in the area.
McGuires
Happy Hour runs 4-6pm and 11pm-close every day
- Half priced draft beer, house wine, and well drinks
McGuires is perhaps the most loved restaurant and bar in Destin. The steaks are fantastic, they have traditional Irish fare, and brunch comes with a free Irish coffee. They also do Ladies Night on Thursdays with even cheaper (and sometimes free!) drinks. Plus, McGuires offers various drink specials throughout the week such as Margarita Monday’s, double shot martini Tuesdays, etc.
Add in the live music every night of the week, and McGuires is a must go in Destin.
Marina Cafe
Happy Hour 5-7pm Everyday in the Bar only (not available in dining room)
- 1/2 Priced Wines, Domestic Beers, cocktails, and martinis
- Specially priced Sushi and Appetizers
Marina Cafe is recognized as one of the best restaurants in Destin. And with outdoor seating overlooking the harbor, a classy indoor atmosphere, and a pricey dinner menu, it’s one of the more upscale dining options in Destin.
Happy hour at the bar starts at 5pm, and I suggest you getting there early to secure a seat. But as great as the food and drink specials are at the bar, the best deal might actually be their Buy One Get One Free entree from 5-6 pm. This is a great way to try the restaurant at a big discount. The BOGO deal is only available in the dining room and reservations are required as it is one of the most popular deals in Destin.

Mimmo’s is a locally owned Italian restaurant that is a Destin favorite. Come early and sit at the bar before the dining room gets busy.
The Back Porch
Happy Hour 3-5 Every Day

- $4.50 well drinks and house wines
- $5.50 Margaritas and Bloody Mary’s

The Back Porch has the same owner as Pompano Joe’s and Louisiana Lagniappe and has been here on the beach since 1974.
Bitterroot
Happy Hour 3-6pm Every Day

- 30% off selected food (flatbread, Birria Hand Pie, Szechuan Wings, Snack Board)
Bitterroot has great cocktails and is one of my top choices for dinner. It’s a little more hidden off of Rt 98 and is one of the town’s best date restaurants.
Brotula’s
Happy Hour 2-6pm Every Day
- 1/2 priced wine, draft beer, well drinks
- $5 margaritas
- $8 select appetizers
Although not a happy hour special, Brotula’s also offers a “You hook it, they cook it”
Tailfin's
Due to a recent fire, Tailfin’s is temporarily closed. I hope they are able to rebuild and open again soon and that their employees are able to find work elsewhere for the time being.

Tailfin’s has outdoor tables and a small stage with love music in the afternoon and evening.
Red Door Saloon

The Red Door Saloon is a local’s spot and is my favorite bar in Destin for well-priced beers and wings. You won’t find fancy entrees or freshly caught seafood here, but you’ll find cold beer and meet patrons who are bartenders, servers, or other workers in the area who stop by after their shift.
Vin’tij Food & Wine
3-5pm Monday-Saturday
- “Wine Down” 1/2 priced wine by the glass
Vin’tij is a wine shop and wine bar that also has great food. In between lunch and dinner service they offer half priced glasses of wine. If you want to go for dinner, I recommend you make a reservation.
Harbor Tavern

KC’s Sandbar might be my favorite bar in Fort Walton Beach. They have live music several nights a week and an outdoor area covered in sand that makes you feel like you’re at a beach bar.
